I use Macs but put Zone Alarm on my one PC in 2005. It showed a lot of bogus alerts which I just confirmed. One day it was serious but I mistakenly confirmed. Then, every day I had to confirm quarantine of oreans32 and my PC woudn't shutdown. Eventually I had to re-install XP. When Zone Alarm expired I asked for a deal on second license (for Parallels) but it was too hard so I tried ESET - no bogus alerts.

Pros: Does a good job, doesn't eat resources like Norton and some others do. I’ve tried most of them, i like this one the best so far.
Cons: if you reboot your modem you have to make sure you click on: Alow into Trusted zone, or you will not get onto the internet.
Other Thoughts: i put this on my customers computers. It could be more user friendly. i get calls on what to do. But anyone who knows a little about computers will have no problem.

Forcefield: anything with the name "Norton", "Vista" or Zone Alarm - the hackers laugh at that piece of trash port monitor. The only result of using it is it can lock you out of your own processes, unless you know about "services", like the hackers do...

Forcefield: Why pay $29.95 when a similar program is available for free? Check out Sandboxie and be amazed.

If ZoneAlarm was started when you downloaded the latest Windows update, you will have no internet connectivity after the restart... Just cost me two hours.
Work Around 1: Shutting down ZoneAlarm will re-establish internet connectivity
Work Around 2: Remove the latest Windows update.
